Technology Accelerator Revs Up with DataGlyphics
4/2/2004
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – DataGlyphics Inc., a St. Petersburg-based software development firm, today announced that it signed a contract with the STAR Technology Enterprise Center (STAR TEC) in Largo, Fla. to develop the group's initial Web site and supporting Web-based applications. STAR TEC occupies 20,000 square feet of space in the Young-Rainey Science and Technology Research (STAR) Center and was formed to support the growth of early stage manufacturing and technology companies throughout the Tampa Bay area.
"As a technology and manufacturing-oriented business accelerator, STAR TEC needs to have a strong Web presence that will allow us to communicate effectively with prospective tenants anywhere in the country, as well as provide information to donors, service providers and the local business community," says Suzie Boland, president of RFB Communications Group and chairman of the STAR TEC advisory board. "We're pleased to be working with a company of the caliber of DataGlyphics and appreciate the donation of their services, both on strategic development and execution. We are confident that the result will be a compelling Web site that helps us attract and grow new businesses for our community."
As part of STAR TEC's new site, DataGlyphics will build a Web-based business plan management solution. The system will enable companies to upload business plans in a secure online environment and allow authorized STAR TEC users to review, grade and post comments on the electronically-submitted business plans. DataGlyphics also will develop a dynamic news section and event calendar that will allow STAR TEC users to logon and manage site content with no HTML or programming required.
William H. Stover, Jr., CEO of DataGlyphics, said, "The mission of the STAR TEC is near and dear to DataGlyphics. We are actively involved in several local groups that support Tampa Bay's technology industry, and the development of the STAR TEC site will definitely help our community. This is a significant project – we're building robust systems that will help streamline business processes and help elevate some of our area tech firms."
About STAR TEC
STAR TEC's goals are to create and foster an entrepreneurial environment, provide access to capital, and support new manufacturing and technology companies. Founders expect this to take place by providing resident companies with business, technical and networking connections through a wealth of community resources, thus aiding incubator companies to migrate their product/concept to market quicker and reach profitability sooner.
